Acknowledgement of Country, Call To Worship & Opening Prayers From The Garden
Welcome to all who come to worship in this space. Please join with us as Rev Deacon Jeanne Beale, Port Phillip West UCA Presbytery Minister leads us in worship. Revs Amanda, Will and Ann send their greetings and blessings to each and all as we enjoy sabbath this day with our families.
Our first song is a brand-new song by Suzette Herft. If any of you have been to the Sacred Edge Festival in Queenscliff in recent years, you would have most likely had the pleasure of listening to Suzette.
I met Suzette at Sacred Edge and we have become friends on Facebook. Recently Suzette shared three new songs she had written on Facebook. When I was preparing for this service, her song: “Pocketful of seeds” kept going around I’m my head, so I messaged and asked if it might be possible to use it – Suzette was very happy to share her gift with us, so here it is:
A Little Something To Get You Thinking With Ollie & Mollie
Bible Reading: John 1:1-5
The Word Became Flesh
In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being.
What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
Please listen in for Jeanne’s message to us today, or read the transcript of her reflections to us here.
